PCMCS is built on the Essbase platform, Oracle’s multidimensional OLAP product. Essbase provides multidimensional calculations, modeling, reporting, and analysis capabilities. Limited predefined allocation methods and rules are provided, allowing users to define their own dimensions and allocation logic. Oracle’s Cloud EPM Profitability and Cost Management is more of a platform for building custom costing and profitability solutions than a predefined standalone costing application.
